My thoughts today

I read and always try to keep up with happenings of the motherland
It's my place of birth.
It's the place i call home. It is home
I love the country passionately but lately...I've been disturbed a great deal.
A lot of things' happend that's left me perturbed and very uneasy
But that which just recently happened made me angry... at the system
It made me angry at what it had become
It made me angry at the people who caused it
It made me angry the people who allowed it

It makes me wonder and ponder
Are these reforms truly working?
Is this democracy really IT?
Where did it all go wrong?
Can things ever get better?
When can we expect these changes.
So many questions...very few answers.
To some people, changes are happening.
But to the majority, they can't see it as it's not affecting them.
There is no evidence to back up the change theory...
Forget the Telecomms and the boom.
Let's talk about our basic amenities.
Really, that's what most people ask for
You know - Good roads that makes commuting easy
Electricity- Who doesn't like light?
Water
Basically, a system that works.
We spend millions of dollars on roads and still nothing to show for it.
We dash out electricity to other countries and we live in perpetual darkness.
What happened to all our LUTHs and UCHs?
Even counselors now travel abroad to treat diarrhoea
I mean, a VP once took a ride on our 'Air Force 1' to treat a sprained ankle.
It is well. Back to my thoughts
I've never heard it before... even in countries the world's tagged 'third world'.
That a mishap like a plane crash happened and the WHOLE country is in the dark.
How can you not know where the plane crash landed for days...
Say for instance the pilot and his cohorts survived the first ordeal...I mean the actual crash
Having waited this long without help...wouldn't they have giving up on life et al?
I wonder what still works in my beloved country.
I wonder why Government officials and their likes will rather spend our monies buying jeeps than fixing our roads.
I wonder why we have loads to trailers and our railway lies in ruins
I wonder why gang ralated robbries is on the rise
I wonder why an average citizen still find it hard to make a living
I wonder what the Senators are doing the house
I wonder whose interest the House is representing
I wonder why i wonder
My heart bleeds for our omoyeni...

Because why...Omoyeni ti rin ihoho w'oja... (Omoyeni's walked butt naked to the market place)
