The Blacksmith's Shop

Image
This is from my favorite author (Max Lucado)... Its worth reading... Have a great weekend :) In the shop of a blacksmith, there are three types of tools. There are tools on the junk pile: outdated, broken, dull, rusty. They sit in the cobwebbed corner, useless to their master, oblivious to their calling. There are tools on the anvil: melted down, molten hot, moldable, changeable. They lie on the anvil, being shaped by their master, accepting their calling. There are tools of usefulness: sharpened, primed, defined, mobile. They lie ready in the blacksmith’s tool chest, available to their master, fulfilling their calling. Some people lie useless: lives broken, talents wasting, fires quenched, dreams dashed. They are tossed in with the scrap iron, in desperate need of repair, with no notion of purpose. Others lie on the anvil: hearts open, hungry to change, wounds healing, visions clearing. They welcome the painful pounding of the blacksmith’s hammer, longing to be rebuilt, begging to be

Have a nice day Murphy's work laws MURPHY'S LAWS ON WORK A pat on the back is only a few centimeters from a kick in the pants. Don't be irreplaceable, if you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted. The more crap you put up with, the more crap you are going to get. You can go anywhere you want if you look serious and carry a clipboard. Eat one live toad the first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day. Never ask two questions in a business letter. The reply will discuss the one you are least interested in, and say nothing about the other. When the bosses talk about improving productivity, they are never talking about themselves. If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it. There will always be beer cans rolling on the floor of your car when the boss asks for a ride home from the office. Mother said there would be days like this, but she never said there would be so many. Keep your

I read and always try to keep up with happenings of the motherland It's my place of birth. It's the place i call home. It is home I love the country passionately but lately...I've been disturbed a great deal. A lot of things' happend that's left me perturbed and very uneasy But that which just recently happened made me angry... at the system It made me angry at what it had become It made me angry at the people who caused it It made me angry the people who allowed it It makes me wonder and ponder Are these reforms truly working? Is this democracy really IT? Where did it all go wrong? Can things ever get better? When can we expect these changes. So many questions...very few answers. To some people, changes are happening. But to the majority, they can't see it as it's not affecting them. There is no evidence to back up the change theory... Forget the Telecomms and the boom. Let's talk about our basic amenities. Really, that's what most people ask for Yo

Why do we say something and mean another Why do we fight over what we don't want Why do we want something we don't need Why do we do what we do Why do we ask questions we don't want answers to Why do we shut up when we should speak out Why do we shout out when we should hold our peace Why do we pick up calls in the cinema Why do we argue when we are we know we are so wrong Why do we stick to a formula that we know will not work Why is Nigeria like this... Why ask why Why am I bothered... ...on a lighter note "If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes." - Andrew Carnegie
